What to do on a Dubai layover

What to do on a Dubai layover

Six hours, twelve hours, or a full day — three plans that actually fit.

A Dubai connection is long enough to be a trip in itself, if you plan around immigration time.

Under 6 hours: stay airside

Terminal 3 has a rest zone, showers and a quiet lounge. Leaving is possible but tight — you will spend most of it in transit.

6 to 10 hours: the Metro plan

Clear immigration, take the Red Line to Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall, see the fountain show, and be back with two hours to spare. Bring your Nol card, not cash.

12 hours or more: old and new

Add Al Fahidi historical district and the abra across the Creek in the morning, then the Marina in the evening. A half-day driver costs less than three taxis.

Practical notes

  • Most Bangladeshi passport holders need a transit or tourist visa to leave the airport — we can arrange it.
  • Left-luggage counters are in every terminal.
  • Summer afternoons are brutal; plan indoor stops between noon and 4pm.
